The Port of Indiana had an award-winning shipping season in 2011. They were honored with the Robert J. Lewis Pacesetter Award for posting increases of 5% in cargo tonnage and 10% in overall shipments. In the midst of this busy season, Thatcher Foundations Inc. was onsite making repairs at Berth 14. Thatcher maintained constant communication with the Port's management team, ensuring that our work would be completed with minimal disruption to the normal transportation activities.

Thatcher repaired the damaged sheeting at Berth 14 by welding doubler sheet piles and filling the void with epoxy grout. The repairs were made utilizing material purchased from a company in Burns Harbor, the same town where the work was completed. Being aware of the busy freight traffic around them, Thatcher's employees completed the job safely.
